Introduction
Constantly misplacing your wallet might finally be a habit you can fix.
The Chipolo x Secrid Miniwallet Trackable looks to combine the familiarity of a traditional leather wallet with the smarts of a modern tracker without compromising the day-to-day experience.
Rather than chasing ultra-slim minimalism, Secrid’s Miniwallet Trackable opts for a slightly thicker, pocket-friendly design that still has room for cash, coins and cards, alongside a dedicated Chipolo Card slot that taps into Apple’s Find My or Google’s Find Hub networks.
Throw in Qi2 wireless charging, a premium hand-made finish and a genuinely useful set of smart features, and you’ve got a wallet that’s just as nice to look at and use as it is clever.
Design and build
- Hybrid pop-up mechanism with leather cover
- Premium hand-made finish with bold colour accents
- Pocket designed specifically for the Chipolo Card
The Chipolo x Secrid Miniwallet Trackable, despite having a mouthful of a name, is pretty pocket-friendly. It’s about the same thickness as a traditional leatherbound wallet, so there isn’t a lot of bulk, though it remains thicker than the super slimline-style wallets at around 20mm thick.

That’s a good trade-off to have though. I’ve used plenty of the super-slim pop-up-style wallets, and they’ve all got one thing in common: nowhere to store cash. They’re great for storing multiple cards, with a trigger to get them to pop up for easy access, but you’re usually out of luck if you have cash or coins.
That’s where the hybrid design of the Miniwallet Trackable comes into play; it has that same pop-up style mechanism for easy access to cards along with a button-secured leatherbound cover that wraps around the exterior for securely holding cash, coins and the all-important Chipolo Card that sits in the back, along with a few additional card slots.

I’ve only got six cards that I use regularly, and as you might imagine, there’s plenty of room to spare.
The process of accessing your cards couldn’t be easier either; unlike some slimline wallets that have a side-mounted trigger, the Miniwallet Trackable’s sits at the bottom, right where your little finger rests.
With a quick push, you can access your cards through a gap at the top of the wallet, sporting a staggered layout that makes it easier to pull out the specific one you want to use. It’s one of those systems that, once you’ve tried it, you’ll not want to go back to a traditional open-close wallet.

It’s available in some nice colour options too, including a combination of dark blue and light blue along with the classic black, with the former sporting a vibrant orange lever for an extra splash of colour and personality. Regardless of the colour option you go for, you’ll be getting the same hand-made, soft leather finish that adds a welcome premium feel to the whole experience.
With the Chipolo x Secrid partnership, the Miniwallet Trackable features a slot designed specifically for the Chipolo Card. It’s not just any old slot though; it has been specifically designed with the tracker in mind, allowing for access to the tracker’s quick button via an indentation in the rear of the wallet to help you find your phone in a pinch.

The compartment also boosts the Card’s acoustics by an additional 3dB compared to use in regular wallets, making it easier to locate when triggering the 110dB siren on your phone.
It has to be placed in a specific orientation to ensure everything is aligned correctly – and while there is a handy diagram showing you how to insert it, I managed to get it wrong not once but twice. That small diagram verges on Ikea-level confusion, but it was easy enough to figure out with the good ol’ trial-and-error method until it fit snugly.

That is my only real complaint about the overall design though; aside from that, Secrid’s offering a premium, hand-made leatherbound wallet that I think most people would be happy to slip into their pockets or bags, with Chipolo smarts only improving things further.
Smart features
- Global tracking via Apple’s Find My or Google Find Hub
- Chipolo app adds phone-finding and alerts
- No UWB, Bluetooth-only for close-range finding
Now, while the Miniwallet Trackable is a smart wallet, all the smarts come from the accompanying Chipolo Card. As mentioned, it slots into a dedicated compartment in the rear of the wallet, ready for use whenever you need it.
The smarts mainly revolve around finding the wallet when you’ve misplaced it – something I do more often than I care to admit, with entire weeks going by before finding it in a random coat pocket – and for that, you can use either Apple’s Find My or Google’s Find Hub depending on whether you’re on iOS or Android. You can’t have both though; you’ll have to deregister from Find Hub if you want to use Find My, and vice versa.

Still, that means the wallet can be found practically anywhere around the world, not just when you’re in Bluetooth range. Apple’s Find My network is vast, comprising over a billion iPhones and iPads worldwide, while Google’s alternative boasts a similarly sized network for equally excellent coverage.
It’s a much better system than relying on a manufacturer-specific network like with most Tiles, as those will only be tracked with phones that have the companion app installed. With Find My and Find Hub, it only needs the phone to be in range – no additional app needed, and that means plenty more devices for it to potentially ping with an updated location.
Setup is a breeze too, requiring only a double-press of the Card’s button to appear on my Android, ready to be linked to Find Hub. Once set up, you can use the Find Hub or the Find My app to check the wallet’s last location and trigger its siren.

Now, you could leave it there and be perfectly happy, but I’d recommend installing the dedicated Chipolo app. I know, I know, I just ragged on companion apps, but Chipolo’s app only extends the functionality on offer.
Once you’re all logged in and linked up in the Chipolo app, you can trigger the card to ring your phone with a double-press – handy for when you misplace your phone and nobody’s around to call it – but with the caveat that this will only work in Bluetooth range.
You can also get notifications whenever you leave it behind, though I’ve found this to be a little more hit-and-miss over the past few weeks.
It’s not that it didn’t work as intended – it would send a notification to my phone every time it disconnected from Bluetooth – but it did mean I got a lot of false positives when walking around my house, especially when I went to my garden office. Again, this is what you want – for it to alert you before you get too far – but I wish there was a way to disable it at home.
It’s also worth noting that the Card only uses Bluetooth for connectivity; there’s no fancy UWB tech that provides ultra-accurate close-range tracking like Apple’s AirTag here.

Battery life
- Around a year of use per charge
- Qi2 wireless charging
- Way more sustainable than single-use card trackers
Battery life is pretty solid, with Chipolo claiming around a year of use before it’ll run flat – but unlike a lot of card-style trackers that are destined for landfill once they lose charge, Chipolo’s option features Qi2 wireless charging.

It sounds so small, but it’s a massive strength of the Card and, thus, the Miniwallet Trackable. Just pop it on a wireless charger for an hour or two and you’ve got another year of use, no need to buy a replacement or those annoying watch-style batteries.
Should you buy it?
You want a new wallet and a tracker
The Miniwallet Trackable is a great wallet made even better by the Chipolo Card’s tracking smarts.
If you’re only interested in the tracking capabilities, you can buy the Chipolo Card separately.
Final Thoughts
The Chipolo x Secrid Miniwallet Trackable is probably my favourite wallet-and-tracker combination around right now.
The wallet’s hybrid design strikes a great balance between slimline convenience and real-world use, with room for cash, coins and cards alongside genuinely useful tracking smarts.
The accompanying Chipolo Card’s combination of Apple/Google network support, simple setup and Qi2 rechargeable tracking makes it feel more premium and futureproof than most rivals, even if the lack of UWB and slightly over-eager left-behind alerts hold it back from perfection.
If you’re prone to misplacing your wallet and want something that feels as good as it works, this combination is easy to recommend despite the premium price tag. Otherwise, if you’re simply interested in tracking your existing wallets, you can pick up the Chipolo Card separately.
