It’ll detect obstacles to avoid them, sense when rain is coming, start and finish a mow on a specific date and cut the grass to a choice of five patterns. Its over sensitivity around obstacles and borders, which means that it just misses a cut to a full five-star review.

Introduction
The WORX Landroid Vision Cloud WR306E 2WD is one of the brand’s six robot lawn mowers, and it’s an Amazon Exclusive that doesn’t require a boundary wire.
Within 10 minutes I had it set up and mapping our back garden. I’ve been testing it for two weeks, sending it out manually and setting a schedule, to see how well it cuts the lawn. Could it be the best robot lawn mower I’ve tested yet? Let’s see…

The WORX Landroid Vision Cloud WR306E 2WD has a powerhouse of tech underneath, and on top, of the hood.
In the box you’ll find: robotic mower, lawn screws (x8), hex key, spare blades (x8), power supply, charging station with WiFi, manual and 4Ah 20V battery (x1).
Measuring 58D x 46W x 28Hcm, it is by no means a discrete, compact device but is a robust, fit for purpose machine that is built to deliver. Be mindful that the robot lawn mower alone weighs a hefty 12.8kg so, when you’re positioning the charging base, you’ll want to be backing onto a boundary fence or path with enough room for it to manoeuvre so that you’re not forever having to manually lift it.
The charging base snaps together and the cable slots together then, within minutes, this robot lawn mower is ready to go straight out of the box with enough juice in the tank to map your lawn.

I was a little confused at first about how to set it up with no instructions but the fact is: there are instructions, check the QR code. This will take you to the Worx Landroid app where you can follow the on screen instructions to connect to your home Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and control it from there.
You can also start, stop, pause and return the mower to the charging station from the deck on top of the robot.
The cutting heights of the Cut-to-Zero edging module (50, 60 or 70mm) and main mower (30, 40, 50 or 60mm) can also be adjusted here too, which can not be done on the app. If you want to have different cutting heights for different zones, you’ll need a lawnmower with motorised cutting height adjustment.
A 4Ah re-chargable, POWERSHARE battery rests under the hood as well. This can be easily removed and placed to power other Worx power tools such as a push lawn mower or hedge trimmer.

Then, underneath are two areas for the blades; one for delivering the cutting pattern, the other for cutting the edges. There are five blades (in total) to maintain, and I’m relieved to see that it looks relatively straight forward to replace them.

I was impressed by the accuracy of the map that the WORX Landroid Vision Cloud WR306E 2WD created. It did this first time and I didn’t need to send it out again. I also didn’t need to lay any boundary wires which saved a lot of time and faff.
I found that you can either mow the entire mapped area and dodge obstacles or create a “no-vision” zone where you have defined a specific area that the mower will ignore a visual detection. This is a good option for areas where there is patchy grass or there will be an infrequent mowing path.
For areas where you want to improve edge cutting and reduce missed spot, you can also set Smart Trim in the app. This will ensure that the mower will closely follow edges or cross boundaries by up to 30cm.
You can also set a load of other cool features in the app such as a schedule, cutting pattern (natural, parallel, checkerboard or diamond), edge routine and rain delay.

The WORX Landroid Vision Cloud WR306E 2WD uses AI to dodge obstacles. When you remove these obstacles, the mower will cut the lawn space that is now clear.
It also has a Cut-to-Zero module which is, essentially, and edge-to-edge mowing feature that is designed to create a neat, clean finish along the borders.
With this, it also has RTK Cloud which is an offsite antenna watching over your garden to achieve a centimetre-level accuracy in open areas. In the shaded areas VSLAM, which stands for Visual Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping, maintains precision in shaded areas and enables close-edge mowing to the borders.
I tested the WORX Landroid Vision Cloud WR306E 2WD suitable for gardens up to 600m2 which has been perfectly suited for our 590m2 lawn area. It is also available for gardens sized up to 300m2, 400m2, 500m2 and 1800m2. If you have an even larger lawn area of, say, up to 4800m2 then the Husqvarna AutoMower 430V NERA will take this in its stride.

The WORX Landroid Vision Cloud WR306E 2WD was a dream to use, from set up through to returning to base after a mow. I have been impressed from beginning to end with only a few niggles along the way.
I wanted a “natural” but neat and refined cut to our lawn but this ended up looking messy to me when the robot was set on a natural cutting pattern.

Instead, I set it to “diamond” when showed much more precision and gave me a better finish overall.
I also adjusted the cutting height throughout the time I was testing it. The lawn that was laid was new so it first started on the highest (60mm), then I dropped it to 40mm and then later down to 30mm because some weeds were starting to poke through.
It struggled a little on the lowest setting (30mm) and although our lawn is mainly flat, it does have some dimples which proved to be an issue for this mower and slowed it down somewhat.
The Cut-To-Zero didn’t cut as close to the edge as I would have liked. The area was free from obstacles and although I saw it get closer to the edge than a “usual” mow, it’ll still mean that I’ll (sometime) need to find the strimmer in the shed.

However, the Smart Trim feature in the app improved the edge cutting. I just expected to have a closer cut without having to enable this.
The WORX Landroid Vision Cloud WR306E 2WD dodged obstacles such as a swing, footballs and a tree planted in the lawn like a pro. It manouvred itself around these without bumping into them, although I’d say that it did this gingerly and, after a week of testing, meant that I had to go around the swing at least once with a grass trimmer to cut back the grass that it didn’t reach. If it could edge a little closer to the obstacles and not be too afraid, I feel that this would be a huge bonus.

It also kept missing a patch in front of the charging base.

This AI, as I’m pretty sure, will also learn your lawn because more grass seemed to get cut on each voyage out (aside from the grass patch in front of the charging base, and around the swing). It took at least three trips out in the garden before all the grass got cut, when all that remained was a swing as an obstacle.
It also seemed to learn more about the lawn edges and the boundaries because towards the end of the two weeks of testing it no longer fell into the the planted border. If it did, then it freed itself.

A standout feature for me in the app has got to be the rain delay. While we’ve had very little rain to navigate there has been a couple of showers, and the WORX Landroid Vision Cloud WR306E 2WD forcast this before rain had even started falling from the sky.
The scheduling ability is also worth a shout out because between this and without the need to empty a grass clippings bag (simply because it’s designed to mulch), cutting the grass truly has been totally autonomous so it has been one less job for me to worry about.

Final Thoughts
If you have a mid to large-sized lawn and have little time to cut the grass, the WORX Landroid Vision Cloud WR306E 2WD is a brilliant lawn mower for the job.
It doesn’t require a boundary wire and it arrives with some juice in the battery which means that it is literally ready to mow straight out of the box, give or take 10 minutes of faff with the app.
Speaking of which, the app is great. This lawn mower arrives with no paperwork – it’s all on the app. It’ll connect to your Home WiFi and Bluetooth to map and follow your instruction. You can set exclusion zones, schedules and the cutting pattern (there’s four to chose from). What I especially like at it is its response time which is almost immediate.
My only negative about it is that I think it could cut closer to the swing (for example), but this issue aside, this is a great robot lawn mower.
