After PUBG, is BGMI BANNED in India? Battlegrounds Mobile India removed from Google Play Store, App Store

BGMI banned in India, just like PUBG Mobile? In a shocking turn of events, Battlegrounds Mobile India has disappeared from the Google PlayStore and Apple App Store. Know all details here.

BGMI banned in India? In a shocking turn of events, Battlegrounds Mobile India, one of the most popular online games, has disappeared from Google PlayStore and Apple App Store. BGMI is the avatar of the PUBG Mobile India, which was banned earlier. In a shocking development, the Indian version of the popular Battle Royale game PUBG Mobile, Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) was removed from the Google Play Store as well as Apple App Store. That means Indian users can’t download BGMI from these stores now. This comes as shocking news for all the BGMI fans, as there was no prior information about the delisting of this battle royale game in India. Notably, another popular online game, Garena Free Fire ban too was imposed in India recently. These apps were banned due to their links with China and because they were affecting state security.

There is no official comment from the BGMI developer, South Korean company, Krafton so far. However, MySmartPrice reached out to the BGMI developer team over the removal of the app from the Play Store and App Store. “We are clarifying how BGMI was removed from Google Play and will let you know once we get specific information,” MySmartPrice quoted a BGMI official as saying.

Meanwhile, Manish Singh from TechCrunch took to Twitter to share that “BGMI has been pulled from the Play Store because of a government order – a person familiar with the matter. ” The shocking disappearance of BGMI from these app stores left players confused, though, the official reason behind the removal of the game is yet to be officially confirmed.

Is BGMI banned in India?

BGMI came as a saviour for the battle royale game fans after the Indian Government banned PUBG Mobile India back in 2020 while citing security concerns. A year ago, PUBG Mobile lookalike BGMI soon took over its place in India. However, this sudden removal of the app from the Google Play Store and Apple’s App store has sowed confusion because now this game has no direct or indirect links with China.

Nevertheless, despite the disappearance of BGMI from app stores, players can still access the game if they have already downloaded it on their smartphones. But, players can no longer download BGMI anymore.

So, is BGMI banned in India? That can’t be said without hearing the final words from the BGMI developer Krafton or the Indian government.
