Verdict
A true flagship robot vacuum cleaner, the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete is a brilliant all-rounder. It handles any environment, dodges obstacles, and climbs thresholds up to 10cm, and it’s a powerful vacuum that picks up big messes easily. With advanced stain detection, its mopping system tackles even the toughest stuck-on stains. It has a few interface quirks, and the clip-on side brush doesn’t seem that useful, but even so, this is a brilliant choice for those who want the best cleaning on any surface.

Introduction
Not just a more powerful version of its previous flagship (although it is that, too), the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete has a double-jointed arm for extra reach and a clip-on side brush for dealing with skirting boards and plinths.
It also hunts down stains with its proactive light dirt detection, covering areas that are particularly dirty in extra detail. With excellent cleaning and mopping, brilliant navigation and a top app, this is a robot that can cope with almost everything.
Design and features
- Double-jointed cleaning arms
- Can drop its mop cloths off
- Powerful app (with the odd quirk)
Although the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete shares some things in common with last year’s Dreame X50 Ultra Complete, the new model changes enough to make it an interesting upgrade over that model. But the changes aren’t something you can necessarily see from the outside.
In fact, unbox the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete, and it looks similar from the outside to the X50. Both robots have a similar rounded design, with a LiDAR dome that can drop into the robot’s body to let it slip under low furniture: both are just 89mm tall with the dome dropped down.

As with the previous version, the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete’s LiDAR dome also houses the physical controls: a button to start/stop a clean, and one to return it to the dock.

Navigation is assisted by the cameras on the front, which use AI to spot and avoid obstacles.

And, they can look for stains with help from the integrated light, helping tackle areas that need a deeper clean automatically.

Flip the robot over, and the underside looks similar, too: a side brush, dual mopping pads, and the dual brush bars, which spin in alternate directions to avoid hair tangling.

While the underside may look different, Dreame has redesigned the arms completely, with double-jointed extending mop and side brushes. Now, the side mop can extend 18cm, and the side brush 12cm.
That’s quite a lot of reach, and it’s not just beneficial for corners: with the extension and angles available, the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete can reach under furniture it can’t fit under, and even clean more closely around chair legs.

Dreame also provides a clip-on brush that lets the robot wipe down skirting boards and plinths as it goes around. That could be handy if you’ve got pets and find hair sticks to the side of the room.

Both the side brush and mops can lift to clear obstacles (10mm on the mop pads), plus the robot can leave its mopping pads behind when in vacuum-only mode, so it can tackle deep-pile carpet without wetting it.
Thresholds can be an issue for robots, but the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete can manage 5cm single thresholds, or dual 5cm thresholds for a total climb of 10cm. In a lot of houses, this will let the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete access areas that other robots can’t reach.
There’s a small bin and filter inside the robot, which you’ll only need to access occasionally.

Dreame also provides spares in the box, with additional mop pads, brush bars, filters and a side brush as standard.

Maintenance of the robot is largely automatic, handled by the docking station. This uses disposable 3.2L bags, which can take up to 100 days’ worth of dirt.
Mop washing and water refilling are also handled by the docking station’s integrated tanks: 4.2L of clean water and 3L for dirty water. 100°C water is used to wash the mop pads, and 40°C water is used for mopping the floor.

Plus, there’s a detergent tank on the side, with the cleaning solution automatically added.

The Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete is managed through the Dreame app. Once connected to Wi-Fi, the robot sets out on a mapping run, automatically discovering your home.
It does a good job of automatically planning the map and puts sharp edges around boundaries, so that the floorplan is easy to see. Should you need to, you can split and merge rooms, put in no-go zones, and add furniture to the map.

Furniture acts as a quick-select zone, so you can quickly clean up around a sofa, dining table and so on.
For general cleaning, you can choose to clean a room (or rooms) of your choice, the entire map or zones that you add to the map for spot cleaning.

Cleaning options are thorough, with a choice of vacuum, mop, vac & mop, and mop after vac. There are four vacuum power levels to choose from, and 32 mop wetness options. As I’ve said before, 32 levels is too many, and Dreame should simplify this choice.
There’s then a choice of Route, with four options (quick, standard, intensive and deep), depending on how thoroughly you want the robot to cover the area.

The number of passes to make (one or two) isn’t available on the cleaning options screen, but on the main map screen, which is a little odd.
Advanced cleaning options include telling the robot to clean along the floor direction, to boost power on carpets (with the option to leave mop pads behind), and to automatically spot stains for deep cleaning.

Performance
- Huge amount of vacuuming power
- Deep cleans stains
- Excellent obstacle avoidance
Rated at a maximum of 42,000Pa, the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete is, on paper, the most powerful robot vacuum cleaner. More powerful than even the Roborock Saros 20. So, how does it actually clean? Well, the answer is exceptionally well.
I started by adding flour to my test carpet, and then I let the X60 run over the mess twice on full power. Not a bit of dust was left behind.
It was the same story on my hard floor test, where the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete managed to collect everything easily.
For the edge test, I added flour right up to the kitchen plinth. After two passes and mopping, there was just a very thin line of mess that the robot couldn’t get. The Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 did marginally better in this test, although its overall performance isn’t quite as good (no surprise, as it’s quite a bit cheaper).
Next, I added human hair to the floor and let the robot vacuum it up. All of the hair was collected, and the dual brushes did a good job preventing the hair from wrapping.
I then moved on to my mopping tests. With the lighter stains, the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete managed the job easily. My coffee stain, for example, was quickly wiped off in just one pass. Similarly, my dried-on red wine stain was gone in a single pass.
On to the tougher tests, starting with the mud stain. An initial vacuum picked up the loose debris, and then, within two passes, the ground-in stain was gone completely.
My toughest test is the dried-on ketchup one. Plenty of robots struggle to shift this, but the combination of power, detergent, hot water and stain detection let the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete do a brilliant job. After two passes, the stain was mostly gone, bar one small blob; this was gone within one more pass.
I’m slightly less convinced by the clip-on brush. My kitchen plinths tend to get marked and need a wipe down, rather than getting covered in dust. As such, I still needed to use a cloth and cleaning spray to get them back to their best.
Navigation is excellent. I found that the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete easily moved around the objects I left down (shoes, cables and fake pet mess), and it neatly avoided getting stuck, even in the very busy home technology lab.
I measured noise at a reasonable 67.2dB (below a cordless vacuum cleaner on its standard power mode).
Battery life was excellent, too. Two passes of the home technology lab were managed with ease, and there was still power left to handle spot jobs. Realistically, for any regular-sized house, this robot can do the job on a single charge.
Should you buy it?
You want excellent performance
Exceptionally powerful vacuuming and mopping, this robot can handle any mess on any surface.
You want something cheaper
If you’ve got a smaller, simpler property, a cheaper, mid-range model may do what you need.
Final Thoughts
Brilliantly priced, the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete is a powerful robot vacuum cleaner and mop. It handles any level of dust easily, can reach areas other robots can’t touch, and its mopping is excellent. A few interface quirks aside, such as the odd location for setting the number of passes, this is a brilliant robot vacuum cleaner for those who demand the best.
