I’m Katherine Bernhardt. Welcome to my house. [LAWNMOWER STARTING] [UPBEAT MUSIC] This house, to me, could be a house, but it could also be a Memphis Milano museum or an art gallery. It’s just fun being in here. This is the living room. This is the Memphis Milano boxing ring originally designed for tea ceremonies. [UPBEAT MUSIC] This is the bacterium design that I stole to make the terrazzo floors. This is the kitchen. I painted it turquoise, just like my mother’s kitchen. This is the dining room, which features my favorite piece in the house. And there’s circles everywhere. Circle stove hood, circle door knobs, circle floor. When I bought the house, we couldn’t get this out of here. It was too heavy. So kept it as a sculpture. I love pink, hot pink and fluorescent pink, because I think it makes me feel good. [UPBEAT MUSIC] [THUNDER] This is my bedroom, and there’s a great view of Forest Park, which is actually bigger than Central Park. Some of the people here refer to this house as the “Miami Vice” house. Later on, it was featured in Murphy Lee’s video “Hold Up” featuring Nelly. It’s funny that Nelly was in this house.
