These esteemed guests contributed invaluable insights during a parallel event attend of the 76th World Health Assembly focusing on the “Role of Biotechnologies in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through Health Promotion”. Guided by the valuable moderation of Dr. Ludovico Seppilli, the roundtable featured prominent individuals who shared their expertise and perspectives on the critical interplay between biotechnologies and health promotion.

Dr. Gabriella Sozanski, a Founding Board member of the Alliance for Health Promotion (A4HP) and WHO Focal Point in Geneva, set the stage by emphasizing the crucial role of biotechnologies in advancing the SDGs and promoting global health. She highlighted the transformative power of biotechnological advancements in addressing pressing global challenges.

Prof. Hussein Elsangak, Vice-President of A4HP and a distinguished scholar from Life University in the USA, took center stage to impart his wisdom on the profound “Philosophy of Life”. Prof. Elsangak expounded upon the philosophical foundations of chiropractic advancements, exploring their far-reaching implications for human existence and well-being.

Ms. Audrey Wong, the Public Health Chairperson of the International Pharmaceutical Students Federation (IPSF), offered a fresh perspective on the topic. The roundtable at the WHO Headquarters in Geneva served as an intellectual gathering of brilliant minds, each contributing to the advancement of knowledge and the pursuit of health promotion through the lens of biotechnologies. With their diverse perspectives and expertise, these experts provided valuable insights into the interplay between biotechnologies and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. Through collaboration and innovation, biotechnologies hold immense potential in shaping a healthier and more sustainable future for all.

In conclusion, our primary focus is to create a position paper that emphasizes the importance of the Mediterranean Diet in preventing Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs). We specifically examine the role of individual genetic predispositions, lifestyles, and the pressing issue of climate change. This endeavor is closely aligned with the World Health Organization’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which sets forth a comprehensive vision for global well-being. By shedding light on the crucial role of the Mediterranean Diet as a preventive measure against NCDs, our aim is to promote a deep comprehension of its potential impact on overall health worldwide. Through this exploration, we strive to raise awareness and understanding of the Mediterranean Diet’s significance in improving global health and well-being.
