Massimiliano Laudati: The Mind Behind Italy’s Most Comprehensive Lake Travel Guides

For those looking to explore the breathtaking landscapes of Lake Como and Lake Garda, two digital platforms are changing the game: Explore Como Lake and Explore Lake Garda. These meticulously crafted travel portals provide everything from must-visit destinations to expert hotel and restaurant recommendations.

To understand the vision behind these platforms, we spoke with their creator, Massimiliano Laudati, a seasoned digital marketing consultant and founder of ML Soluzioni Web. With a career spanning nearly two decades, Laudati has built a reputation for developing innovative digital strategies that connect businesses with their audience. Here, he shares the inspiration behind his latest venture and why these platforms are essential for travelers.

Q: Massimiliano, what inspired you to create Explore Como Lake and Explore Lake Garda?

I’ve always been passionate about digital projects that serve a real purpose, and I wanted to create something that wasn’t just another generic travel blog. I’ve visited these lakes countless times, and I realized that while there’s a lot of information out there, it’s often fragmented, outdated, or too commercialized.

I wanted to build platforms that truly help travelers—not just by listing places but by providing carefully curated recommendations, insider tips, and up-to-date information. These are not just websites; they’re complete travel guides designed for people who want to experience the best of these lakes without spending hours researching.

Q: What makes your platforms different from other travel guides?

Many websites focus on quantity over quality, flooding pages with generic descriptions and sponsored content. I took a different approach. Every recommendation on Explore Como Lake and Explore Lake Garda is based on real experiences, local knowledge, and a commitment to quality.

The platforms are designed to be user-friendly, with easy navigation, practical itineraries, and insightful content. Whether you’re looking for the best lakeside hotel, a hidden beach, or a scenic hiking trail, you’ll find well-researched, trustworthy information—without the fluff.

Q: Your background is in digital marketing. How has that influenced these projects?

My journey in digital marketing started in 2005 with Spot Magazine, a print publication that pushed me into the digital space. Since then, I’ve worked on countless projects, founded ML Soluzioni Web, and helped businesses build their online presence.

With these portals, I applied the same principles I use in marketing—clear communication, user experience, and strategic SEO. The goal is not just to attract visitors but to offer them real value so they keep coming back.

Q: Lake Como and Lake Garda are quite different. How do your platforms cater to each one’s unique appeal?

That’s exactly why I created two separate portals.

Lake Como is about elegance, history, and romance. It’s famous for its opulent villas, charming towns like Bellagio and Varenna, and stunning lakeside promenades. The content on Explore Como Lake reflects that, guiding visitors through a sophisticated yet authentic experience.

Lake Garda, on the other hand, is more diverse. It’s Italy’s largest lake, and its energy shifts depending on where you go—whether it’s the dramatic cliffs of Riva del Garda, the medieval charm of Sirmione, or the vineyards of Bardolino. Explore Lake Garda captures this mix, offering recommendations for adventure seekers, food lovers, and families alike.

Q: What’s the biggest challenge in running these platforms?

Keeping the content fresh and reliable. Unlike printed guides, digital travel content needs constant updates. Hotels change ownership, restaurants open and close, and new experiences emerge. That’s why I’m committed to ensuring that Explore Como Lake and Explore Lake Garda remain accurate and relevant.

Another challenge is making sure these platforms stay independent. Many travel sites are filled with paid placements that don’t always reflect the best choices for travelers. I want these guides to remain authentic and trusted sources of information.

Q: How do you see these platforms evolving in the future?

The goal is to keep growing, adding more detailed itineraries, local insights, and perhaps even collaborations with travel experts who share the same vision. I also plan to expand Explore Italian Lakes to include other incredible destinations, such as Lake Maggiore.

At the same time, I want these platforms to stay user-driven. Feedback from travelers is crucial, and I hope these guides become interactive spaces where people can share their experiences and tips.

Q: Any final advice for travelers planning a trip to Lake Como or Lake Garda?

Don’t just follow the crowds. Sure, visit the famous spots, but also take the time to wander through less touristy areas, talk to locals, and enjoy the slower rhythm of lake life.

And of course, start your planning at Explore Como Lake and Explore Lake Garda—you’ll find everything you need to make your trip unforgettable!
