Iron Man is coming back to your screens… in a game! This is what it will be like
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

An Iron Man game is currently under development by EA Motive studios. There is no information on a probable release date.

It has been years since Iron Man left the silver screen and fans await another outing of the flying superhero. While Marvel is yet to announce any new movie starring a new Iron Man, there is a game coming out by the same name. And this time, it won’t be a part of an Avengers game – Iron Man gets his own game, just like the Spiderman series from Insomniac games. The announcement was recently made on social media and an early glimpse has been revealed.

However, don’t hold your breath yet! The project is in very early stages, and EA Motive reveals the game hasn’t even reached the production stage yet. Hence, it could be a couple of years before you see Tony Stark don the suit of Iron Man and let you fly around, fighting villains. Most importantly, the game is set to have an original narrative and will be a single-player third-person action adventure video game.

Iron Man is coming to your screens

“We’re thrilled to share that an all-new single-player, third-person, action-adventure Iron Man video game is now in early development at Montreal-based Motive Studio. The team is being led by Olivier Proulx, who brings experience working on past Marvel titles like Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and is joined by a dedicated team of passionate industry veterans including Ian Frazier, Maëlenn Lumineau, and JF Poirier at the studio,” says the official press release.

The game will let players go on as Iron Man, having to deal with a story. We won’t be surprised if the game is largely similar to the Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy game, or even the Spiderman series. Note that this will be a different game from the Avengers title, which was largely focused on multiplayer experiences, and was developed by Square Enix.

What remains to be seen is how well this game comes along and whether it can take full advantage of the current generation consoles as well as gaming PCs.

That’s not all though. The press release states, “This is an exciting new collaboration between Marvel and Electronic Arts, with Iron Man being the first of several new games.” Does that mean the studio will build an entire arsenal of MCU themed movies, and come up with another Avengers title over the years?
