Dean Jo-Ann Rolle, a distinguished academic leader and economist, bridges the gap between rigorous scholarship and entrepreneurial dynamism. Her doctoral studies in economics at Howard University laid the foundation for her transformative leadership as Dean of the School of Business at Medgar Evers College (CUNY).

Dean Rolle’s prior career in diverse leadership roles, including CEO of a university, Chief Academic Officer, and executive at IBM, underscores her exceptional administrative acumen. This versatility translates seamlessly into her academic leadership, marked by the establishment of two entrepreneurial centers, innovative curriculum development, and a consistent focus on student success.

A passionate advocate for fostering critical thinking and entrepreneurial spirit within higher education, Dean Rolle has actively engaged in training, research, and professional consulting. Her expertise extends to international platforms, where she has delivered keynote speeches at the United Nations and participated in key forums like the Price-Babson Symposium for Entrepreneurship Educators.

Dean Rolle’s commitment to inclusivity and equitable access to quality education is evident in her forthcoming book, “Tech Enabled Futures: Elevating Education in Underserved Areas,” and her edited volumes on the Future of Work and Entrepreneurship for the Underserved. Her leadership extends beyond institutional boundaries, as demonstrated by her active roles as board member at Glasgow Caledonian College, Vice Chair of the Global Listening Board, fellow for the Center for Business & Economic Research, Harvard Administrative fellow and immediate past president of the HBCU Business Deans Roundtable.

Dean Rolle’s distinguished career exemplifies a relentless pursuit of academic excellence, a dedication to empowering future generations, and a profound impact on the landscape of business and economics education.
