Amber Renee Fawn Cunningham: Breaking Design Conventions and Inspiring Authentic Expression

Amber Renee Fawn Cunningham

Miseducated artist, Amber Renee Fawn Cunningham rejects the notion that art and design must conform to prescribed rules or standards. Instead, she encourages exploration, experimentation, and the freedom to express oneself authentically. Her work often explores themes of identity, nostalgia, and the relationship between knowledge and creativity.

Self-proclaimed alternative pop culture archeologist, Amber Renée Fawn Cunningham’s creations have garnered attention for those that crave nostalgia with her signature pastel rainbow palettes. She continues to start trends, push boundaries, and inspire others to question established norms, encouraging a reevaluation of our understanding of art and the human experience.

New Edge Times: Can you please introduce yourself and tell us about your background as a designer and content creator?

Amber Renee Fawn Cunningham: My name is Amber Renee Fawn Cunningham and I have been an internet geek and digital creator since the late 90s.

New Edge Times: What inspired you to pursue a career in design and content creation?

Amber Renee Fawn Cunningham: One day I just decided I was going to learn how to write in HTML so I could design my own website. When the internet was “new” there were a lot of bulletin boards you could use to create posts designed in HTML. It made me realize I could create more than posts on other sites.

New Edge Times: As a designer, what is your creative process like? How do you approach a new project from concept to completion?

Amber Renee Fawn Cunningham: I get an idea, I obsess about the idea, and then I continue to obsess about it until it’s created the “right” way.

New Edge Times: Collaboration is often an essential part of the design and content creation process. Can you describe a situation where you collaborated with a team or client to bring a project to life? How did you handle any differences in opinion or creative direction?

Amber Renee Fawn Cunningham: I actually have collaborated a lot in the past with companies such as Hasbro, Sanrio, Stila Cosmetics, Coco De Coeur, Miseducated, Tokyolux, Crystal Cactus, and people such as, Audrey Kitching, Raquel Reed, and Nicki Minaj.

It’s often difficult to deal with differences in creative opinion but most companies/figures just let me do my thing.

New Edge Times: Are there any specific industries or types of projects that you are particularly interested in working on as a designer and content creator?

Amber Renee Fawn Cunningham: Sanrio Japan, for sure. I am a very big fan of Sanrio and have always wanted to do creative work with them. I was invited to their VIP events in the past for press on my blog, Miseducated, but my dream is do a design project of some kind with them.

New Edge Times: As a designer and content creator, what are your long-term career aspirations?

Amber Renee Fawn Cunningham: Taking it day by day. I look forward to featuring more companies and figures that I adore. I’ve only dipped my toes into the influencing market for myself — I’m sadly more comfortable marketing for other companies.

New Edge Times: Where can we see more of your work?

Amber Renee Fawn Cunningham: You can visit my stores, Miseducated (http://www.miseducated.com) and Coco De Coeur (http://www.cocodecoeur.com), find me on all social media, or you can find my books on Amazon.
