SwitchBot K11+

SwitchBot K11+

A brilliant robot vacuum cleaner for those tight on space.

SwitchBot’s K11+ proves that small really can be mighty. It doubles the suction of the K10+ Pro, smooths out navigation, and somehow shrinks the dock down to the most discreet footprint I’ve seen. It’s still not the answer if you want a robot that can genuinely mop, and it’s not suited for large carpeted houses but, as a compact robot vacuum, it’s a major step forward. Add in the fact it’s launching at a lower price than its predecessor, and the K11+ is one of the strongest small-space cleaning options available.

  • Tiny robot and dock combo

  • Double suction power

  • Matter-ready (with Hub)

  • Great hardwood vacuuming

  • Mopping is pretty average

  • No AI obstacle detection

  • Clumsy navigation

Key Features

  • Auto-empty dock

The incredibly small dock takes 4-litre bags.

  • Small size

Just 248mm wide, this is a mini vacuum cleaner that can get into tight gaps.

Introduction

When SwitchBot first introduced the K10+, it carved out a new category of pint-sized robot vacuums designed for apartments and smaller homes.  A year later, the K10+ Pro arrived with stronger suction, a better cleaning brush and slightly improved smarts, but still with a limited suction performance.

Now the mini SwitchBot lineup grows again with the arrival of the K11+, a model officially launched at IFA 2025, that sticks with the compact form factor but raises the stakes with 6000Pa suction, an even smaller dock, and a launch price that undercuts the K10+ Pro by a sizeable margin.

At $399 / £399 (with 25% off during launch) it costs far less than the $599 / £599 K10+ Pro when that debuted.

So is this the one that finally nails the “mini robot vacuum” formula? Read my full SwitchBot K11+ review to find out.

Design and components

  • Tiny
  • Small self-emptying dock

Upon your first sight, you’d be forgiven for mistaking the K11+ for its older siblings. It keeps the same compact circular chassis, measuring under 25cm across and standing 9.2cm tall.

That makes it much smaller – diameter wise – than ‘normal’ robot cleaners, such as the SwitchBot S10 – that are normally around the 33cm mark.

That means it’s able to more easily navigate around chair legs, sofas, and cabinets; though something like the Roborock Saros 10R (at just 8cm tall) still beats it for squeezing under very low furniture.

The star design upgrade is the base station. At only 24cm tall, it’s by far the tiniest self-empty dock I’ve come across. You can hide it almost anywhere: beside a plant, under a TV stand, even under the sink. You may not want to hide it, as SwitchBot has given it a slick new wood-effect lid so it’s anything but bulky and ugly.

Despite its shrunken size, capacity hasn’t been cut. The dock still uses a 4-litre antibacterial dust bag, which should be good for around 90 days before needing to be swapped out. There’s also a slot under the lid for the mop cloths and cleaning tool, keeping everything tidy.

The vacuum itself is featherlight at 2.3kg, so moving it between floors is painless.

SwitchBot has also upgraded the cleaning hardware. It has both a rubber roller brush and a V-shaped side brush, both designed to stop hair from tangling. Pet owners will notice the difference straight away.

Navigation hardware has also been improved. Alongside the LiDAR tower, there’s now a PSD sensor on the side for more accurate object detection; a feature that you’ll also find on the K10+ Pro and the flagship S20.

You’ll also find the usual extras in the box; spare bags, filters, side brushes, and disposable mop pads.

Features

  • Matter compatible via Hub
  • Easy-to-edit maps

The initial setup follows the same recipe as any SwitchBot cleaner: power it on, add it in the SwitchBot app, and let it map your home. If you want Matter control, you’ll need to pair it with a Matter compatible SwitchBot bridge, such as the new Hub 3.

The mapping process is quick thanks to LiDAR and the new PSD sensor. In testing, the first map was sharper and more reliable than what the K10+ Pro produced.

Once mapped, you can create rooms, set up virtual walls, and define no-go zones. Up to five maps can be stored, so it works well across multiple floors.

One thing missing is AI avoidance. The K11+ doesn’t recognize objects like cables, shoes, or toys, so it can get tangled or stuck if you don’t tidy up first. It also repeatedly tried to squeeze under furniture it couldn’t clear thanks to the LiDAR tower.

Smart home support is excellent though. Matter-over-WiFi means Apple Home users can already trigger section cleans natively, with wider compatibility coming as platforms catch up.

Outside of Matter, the K11+ integrates into Alexa, Google Assistant, SmartThings, Home Assistant, and the rest of the SwitchBot ecosystem.

Performance

  • Good hard floor vacuuming
  • Basic mopping
  • No AI obstacle avoidance

The biggest leap over previous models is suction power. The K11+ jumps from 3000Pa to 6000Pa, and the results are instantly obvious.

Hardwood floors were noticeably clean after a single run, and the K11+ did a far better job on rugs compared with the K10+ Pro.

It still can’t match a flagship like the Dreame X50 Ultra Complete for thick carpet cleaning, but it’s not trying to as it’s much smaller and half the price.

SwitchBot’s SilenTech keeps the vacuum as quiet as 45dB in low-power mode, making it one of the least disruptive cleaners out there, although docking and emptying the dust bag is a little noisy.

In homes with mainly hard floors, the K11+ really shines. Corner coverage is stronger, and in my testing it even outperformed the larger SwitchBot S20 in tight spaces, finishing an area about 10% quicker while hugging walls more closely.

Battery life is rated for up to 150 minutes on quiet mode, scaling down with suction, and the coverage figure of 225m² checks out. It will also recharge mid-clean and resume automatically if needed.

That said, it’s not perfect. Without AI smarts, it’s prone to bumping into furniture, getting caught on wires, and nudging small items around. The LiDAR tower also tends to scrape against units it can’t fit under. Still, these are quirks shared by many budget and mid-range vacuums.

The K11+ sticks with SwitchBot’s lightweight mopping approach. You attach a disposable cloth, and it drags it across your floors. There’s no water tank, no scrubbing, and no carpet detection.

It’s fine for dust or faint marks, but don’t expect it to handle anything tougher. If you want proper two-in-one cleaning, you’ll need to look at the SwitchBot S20 or a more premium alternative.

Should you buy it?

You want a very small vacuum cleaner

If you’re short on space and mostly have hard floors, this is a great little robot vacuum cleaner.

You want more powerful vacuuming and mopping

If you want a robot that will deep clean hard floors and carpets, and that can mop brilliantly, look elsewhere.

Final Thoughts

The SwitchBot K11+ feels like the natural evolution the mini range has been waiting for. It keeps the ultra-compact form factor that made the K10+ stand out but adds far stronger suction, a much smaller dock, smarter navigation, and Matter compatibility… all for a lower launch price than the Pro model before it.

This robot isn’t very good at mopping, and it’s not as clever at obstacle avoidance as some AI-powered rivals, but for small homes and apartments, it’s a fantastic value proposition. For the first time, it feels like SwitchBot has delivered a truly well-rounded “mini” robot vacuum.
