BGMI banned, but you can still play Battlegrounds Mobile India THIS way
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) is no longer available to download on Google Play Store or Apple App store, but this is how you can still play.

Battlegrounds Mobile India ban has come as quite a shock for gamers. In the late hours of July 28, one of the most popular online battle-royale games, BGMI, suddenly disappeared from Google PlayStore and Apple App Store. This left no traces of BGMI on both app stores, which means users can’t download it anymore on their devices. However, soon after the removal of the BGMI app from the Play Store, Google officially came up to clarify that the removal of the game came into effect as a result of a direct government order.

Meanwhile, the developer of BGMI, Krafton confirmed the ban of BGMI in India saying, “We are clarifying how BGMI was removed from Google Play Store and the App store and will let you know once we get specific information.” However, a Reuters report hints that the removal of the BGMI in India is the same as the ban of PUBG: Mobile back in 2020 along with a host of other Chinese apps, and Garena Free Fire in early 2022, that is the data sharing issues with China.

The Reuters reports says, “India’s government blocked a popular battle-royale format game from Krafton Inc, a South Korean company backed by China’s Tencent, as it was concerned about its data sharing and mining in China, an Indian government source said.” It should be noted that the Indian government is yet to make an official announcement if the removal of BGMI is due to data security concerns or not.

But you can still play BGMI!

Thankfully, despite the removal of BGMI from the Google and Apple app stores, the players can still play BGMI on their smartphone if they have downloaded it before. In case you want to experience other BGMI-like battle royale games, then you can try your hands on other games such as New State: Mobile, Call of Duty: Mobile, Free Fire Max”>Garena Free Fire Max, Apex Legends, and more.
