A mention of Odesa businessman Kostiantyn Tkach has been discovered in a set of documents that form part of the so-called “legacy” of the late American financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
These materials were released following the partial declassification of U.S. court records. According to the information that has become public, the files contain evidence of correspondence involving Tkach.
In particular, the documents include a request from the businessman seeking a private meeting with Epstein “for a separate fee.”
Based on publicly available information, Tkach is an influential figure in Odesa, owning not only commercial enterprises.
Dossier: Who Was Jeffrey Epstein
Jeffrey Epstein was an American financier, multimillionaire, and philanthropist who was accused of operating a network for recruiting and sexually exploiting underage girls. According to investigators, this activity may have continued from the late 1990s and involved dozens of victims.
In 2008, Epstein reached a plea deal with Florida prosecutors, admitting guilt to some of the charges and subsequently serving 13 months in a local jail with daytime release privileges.
In July 2019, he was arrested again — this time in a federal case on charges of sex trafficking of minors.
On August 10, 2019, Epstein was found dead in his jail cell in New York. The official cause of death was ruled a suicide, although the circumstances remain the subject of ongoing public debate.
